We all wish that cost didn’t matter. But we know the truth of the matter is that for most people, it does. We understand that not everyone has unlimited resources to commit to their pet’s care; that shouldn’t preclude them from being able to provide quality care for their beloved companions.

Transparency is crucial for a healthy doctor-client relationship. To that end, you will find prices for a number of routine procedures here. Although there may be instances when unanticipated issues are identified that will cause costs to potentially fall outside of these ranges, we always do our best to make sure that communication about the cost of anticipated treatments are clear.

* All listed prices are subject to HST.

Renforth Veterinary Clinic accepts payment via cash, Debit, MasterCard, Visa and American Express. In order for us to continue to provide excellent veterinary care affordably, we request that payment be made at the time services are rendered.

Estimates are provided for all proposed care and/or procedures. If you require any clarification about the estimated cost of care, please speak to your veterinarian or a member of the care team.

Pet insurance is, essentially, health benefits for pets. Plans offer reimbursement for veterinary bills for illness and injury, subject to coverage by the individual policy. Plans vary vastly in terms of monthly premiums, deductible amounts, percentage of co-payments, coverage and limits or maximum payouts

There are several companies that offer pet insurance in Canada. Most are reviewed on petinsurancereview.com, a U.S.-based website that provides consumer reviews of Canadian and American pet health insurance companies, rating them out of 10.

Companies generally offer a variety of plans, with varying deductibles and co-payments. Some plans cover only basic accidents and illnesses while others provide more extensive coverage (some policies even include preventive veterinary care like annual exams and dental care. Coverage may include the cost of supplements, dental therapeutic pet foods and orthotic or prosthetic devices. Most polices have maximum payouts by incident or category of illness (ie. dermatology, accidents, orthopedics etc.)

Because policies vary so greatly, there isn’t one company or policy that could be considered a first choice across the board. It is important that owners research any policy they are considering and be sure to investigate details about coverage, including exclusions and limits.
